Rebellion or Revival
In this post I’m going to share a passage of scripture on something the Holy Spirit said to me many years ago.
I was a new born Christian who had just had a Romans road experience on Halloween in 1996 when I was introduced to Jesus Christ himself. After attending a few church services and bible studies, under the influence of a spirit of criticism, this is what I said to God. God, these people don’t really love you, their just going through the motions. Well, just like you do any smart mouth know-it-all, God rebuked me quickly, and this is what He said. Don’t ever say my people don’t love me, that is not true. Then He said something I will never forget and still don’t fully understand in it’s fullness. God said, the Church will return to the times when believers have all things common. Right after this comment, in an open vision, I saw crowds of people bringing substance to the Apostles for distribution. I have been reminding myself of this exchange for 15 years now, eargerly awaiting it’s manifestation.
For more than two years now there has been a hunger in my heart to do a bible study for unbelievers. With every fiber of my being, and plenty of confirmations, I believe God is working in the hearts of many servants, particularly in America, who’s only desire is to tell the lost about the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, because the world has all but lost total respect for organized religion, small cell groups are the order of the day. The term “cell group” is familiar to you because of 911. We found out that fighting terrorism was diffuclt because they were not all located in one spot, the terrorists were dispersed across the entire globe in small cell groups. Terrorist cell groups are the Ishmaels before the Isaacs of Holy Spirit led and controlled cell groups.
As I continue praying and crying out to God for my church, the leaders God has placed over me, and the Body of Christ, I watch brothers and sisters break ranking authority and one by one fall prey to taking the wrong approach to accomplish something God has put in their hearts.
Is it possible that the revival we’ve all been longing and praying for is already here and we’re missing it? If you know anything about revivals, once God began to work in the hearts of men and women, without fail, other established men and women of God fought passionately against the very thing God had ordained. As a matter of fact, this very thing happened to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Unlike the rest of my posts, this one contains my opinion. There’s a right way and a wrong way to go about doing things. Proverbs 22:28 makes it very clear that we have not been inspired by the Holy Spirit to shame, oppose, uncover or disgrace the foundational people in our lives, NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE DISAGREE WITH THEM. This behavior has been revealed to me in a number of situations as ENTITLEMENT. You know, a person or a group of people feel they’re entitled to something, so they feel justified in using whatever means necessary to get what they want. Don’t believe me, just take a look at the life of Ham and every person produced from his loins after bringing shame on and uncovering the foundational person in his life; his father Noah. Noah cursed Ham and if you study it, the seed of entitlement in Ham’s descendants escalated to the point where they were foolish enough to think they could gather enough support to overthrow God himself (say it with me people…IDIOTS). This is not what God had in mind when He chose Noah’s family to replenish the earth.
I would just love the opportunity to ask Ham, hey Ham, didn’t you know that since you came from Noah’s loins; when you shamed and uncovered him you were actually shaming and uncovering all that YOU ARE? Again, say it with me people…IDIOT!!!
Well, I’m through venting. Here’s the scripture I invite you to ponder and a powerful video that clearly reveals what this Revival will look like. For the record, I have no idea who created this video. What I do know is that the longing in the hearts of believers and unbelievers alike is for authentic relationship with Jesus and with men and women just as much in need of a savior as they are (no pretense). Please note the wisdom of these dear saints in DEVOTING THEMSELVES TO THE APOSTLES’ TEACHING, FELLOWSHIP, SHARING MEALS and ***PRAYER***.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
